The last time we saw Vivian Dsena on television, he was playing the sweet, caring Harman Singh in Shakti -Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki. The show brought him a lot of accolades and helped him change the angry young man image that he inherited from another hit show Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon. Well, it has been two years since then and looks like Vivian is back to his old ways. The actor is currently preparing for a grand comeback and as exciting as that sounds, we aren’t too thrilled about it.
A little birdie tells us that Vivian has already been signed to play the main lead in Rashmi Sharma’s new show. For the unversed, she was the brains behind Shakti as well and has apparently come up with a “new” concept for her next. We hear that she has conceptualised a show, which is quite like the movie Kabir Singh!!!! We cannot say anything about you but for us that definitely set some alarm bells ringing. Well, we have time and again explained why Kabir Singh was one of the most toxic Bollywood characters ever. “Vivian’s attitude and personality fit the bill perfectly for the part of the male lead, whose character will be like Shahid’s in Kabir Singh,” revealed a source in interaction with an online media portal.
But there’s more. Eisha Singh from the show Ishq Subhan Allah has been roped in to play the lead opposite Vivian and the reason behind her casting sounds equally problematic. “We needed an actress who looked the part and Eisha is apt for the role of the female protagonist. She will play a calm and soft-spoken girl on the show. The character is of a demure and meek girl,” the source explains. Wow…we just can’t!
In case, Vivian has not signed the show just yet and is still considering it, we have just one suggestion–please don’t. A problematic character in a three-hour movie is one thing and following the same on a TV show is just another. Watching the same, aggressive actions every day on repeat is bound to normalise that kind of behaviour, especially when someone who is essentially hailed as a “hero” does it. The film has done enough damage, we really don’t need a show on someone like Kabir Singh, please. We really can not afford it at the moment.
Meanwhile, we also hear that Vivian is considering reprising his role in Madhubala – Ek Ishq Ek Junoon. Currently, he and Drashti Dhami are in talks with the makers for the show’s sequel and if everything goes well it might very well be airing by the end of this year. We know the fans might be rejoicing at this new development. As for us? There would be just so much damage to be undone. We really aren’t ready for this. Do better, Vivian!
