5 Holiday Hairstyles That Are Timeless & Easy To Recreate

Ah, the holiday season – a time for festive sweaters, and the eternal question: ‘What on Earth do I do with my hair to match with my look?’ As someone who hates doing her hair, I thought I’d compile a few looks that have made their way onto my feed time and again over the past year. From the classic slick back bun to the Sarah Jessica Parker bow – here are a few chic hair ideas that will elevate your holiday fit and make you the talk of the party for all the right reasons.

Bows, Baby!

One of the biggest trends of the years has to be bows! This delicate accessory has become one of the most cognisant representations of balletcore and has taken over the industry – from Sandy Liang to Simone Rocha, they’re everywhere. But while they have found their space in editorial fashion, how do you utilise this versatile accessory for an NYE party?

The easiest way to incorporate a bow into your hairstyle is to simply tie one to your hair clips/clutches. Pull your hair into a half updo, tie it with a rubber band. Then push the bun up and clip it with the bow – as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Cuff It Up!

Another super easy way to add that extra oomph to your outfit is through embellished cuffs or ponytail holders for your ponytails. For all my straight hair girlies, there is nothing better than a sleek ponytail when it comes to looking polished and put together at an office party. Ditching your rubber bands and scrunchies and investing in a cute ponytail holder can really change up the game!

All you have to do is make a ponytail, and tie them up using these holders instead of your everyday bands! Cute, cool, and super chic.

Did Someone Say Hairbands Are Back?

Another trend that’s slowly making its way into the periphery of the holiday season is hair bands. Honestly, I thought we were done with those big acrylic bands from the 90s that are the epitome of quiet luxury or girly pop core but they’re back and honestly, not looking too shabby!

It’s the perfect addition to a casual look – for an early evening Christmas dinner or morning brunch on New Year’s Day! The magic of this hairstyle is that you can wear the headband with bangs or without, and it works for any type of hair texture, from curly to straight as a stick!

You Can Never Go Wrong With Some Glitter.

Glitter on hair has been one of my favourite hairstyle hacks for a few years now and there are a lot of new products on the market that make this an easy idea to opt for. In fact, even Zara came out with a golden spray hair kit and while it’s not available in India here are a few hairsprays you can use instead!

Slick Back Buns

The last hairstyle is one that celebrities seem to wear time and time again – for errands or to the red carpet. It’s relatively simple, makes sure you look put together, and has lots of room to play.
