The return of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has left much to be desired. After introducing new ambassadors and becoming size-inclusive, glamorous women came together under the VS banner, with a universal unsaid rule – to look as effortless as possible. From Priyanka Chopra Jonas to Gigi Hadid and Naomi Campbell, the powder pink carpet outside Manhattan Center showcased a barrage of nude makeup looks that left me wanting more.
Despite its six-year hiatus, it’s fascinating to see that the clean, no makeup makeup look they championed is still as relevant as ever. While Victoria’s Secret may have undergone changes, it’s no secret that this look remains popular. Since it’s my job to make sure you have all the product recs and routines for trendy makeup looks, here’s an extravagant guide for that coveted, VS supermodel “low effort” look.
8 Products For A No Makeup Makeup Look
Start with a nice clean face and a heavy sense of responsibility that comes from being an influencer, or public figure in the entertainment industry.
Prep with the Smashbox Photo Finish 24-Hour Shadow Primer and follow with the Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Antipollution Sunshine Serum for a base that will empty your pockets, but make you look sunkissed…at night!
Then go in with any lightweight foundation and your everyday concealer. Follow with your usual bronzer, or the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer for an additional layer of sunkissed-ness.
For eyes, either you can bleach your brows….or fill them in with your usual products. Just make sure to layer two coats of your mascara for those ultra-long lashes. I recommend the M.A.C Stack Mini Mascara for the best results.
You can also add a light line of kohl if you want, and I love the Lakme Kajal.
For lips, go in with the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat – Pillow Talk, and the Buxom Full-On Plumping Lip Polish for a glossy, nude-ish lip look.
Finish the look with some body glitter like the Sol de Janeiro Glowmotions Rio Sunset Glow Body Oil, leave your hair open or put it in a tight bun; there you have it, and your supermodel look is complete!
As we enter 2023, the veil of secrecy that once shrouded Victoria has been lifted—hopefully revealing a more inclusive vision where anyone can be a “supermodel”. All I ask is that you add a touch of inventiveness to your makeup routine. There’s much more to a model than looking clean.
