Borders, challenges, or stereotypes—love conquers it all. It’s so heartwarming to see people finding love against all odds and we recently came across the fairytale story of one such couple.
Photographer Muaz Ali Qureshi recently shared pictures from a beautiful Kashmiri wedding hosted in Birmingham, England. We instantly fell in love with the breathtaking backdrop and the couple’s traditional attire. The bride, Basita, wore a maroon tilla pehran, featuring gold embroidery work and Kashmiri jewellery. The groom, Khizar, complemented her in a traditional Kashmiri kurta set and a pashmina shawl. But wait till you hear their beautiful love story.
Basita re-posted the pictures and shared their love story in the caption. It read, “Story: We met through some mutual friends first time in Cambridge at Cafe Nero. We know that we were from two separate sides of Kashmir, Azad Kashmir & Srinagar and the parallel played well as he is from Oxford and I am from Cambridge. I was so nervous that I called him by his father’s name and we both LAUGHED!!! That was a great kick start.”
Awwww! Here, checkout some of the pictures from their wedding:
A huge shoutout to Basita and Khizar for reminding us that love is the strongest force in the world!
