Girl meets boy, her red dupatta magically flies across the room and lands on the guy’s face. They fall in love, fight the Komolikas of the world and find their happily ever after. This might be every TV serial love story ever. But off-screen, this isn’t the kahani of every ghar. Sometimes, the families find your perfect match and help you realise that “Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi” hote hain. Case in point: these five popular TV actors, who found their real-life “Pavitra Rishta” through an arranged marriage setup. Take a look:
Karan Patel
Small-screen heartthrob Karan Patel met his now-wife Ankita Bhargava at a party hosted by her father and both had an epiphany: “Yeh Hai Mohabbatein”. They shared their feelings about getting married to each other with their families. Within a few days, the bade log got things rolling, and the rest is history.
Divyanka Tripathi
Karan’s Yeh Hain Mohobbatein co-star Divyanka Tripathi also took the arranged-marriage route but it still wasn’t a conventional one. The actress was introduced to Vivek Dahiya by co-actor Pankaj Bhatia and nope, it wasn’t love at first sight for the couple. They took their time to look at each other from a life partner’s point of view and eventually got married in 2016 after spending some time together.
Nikitin Dheer
Nikitin Dheer aka Thangaballi has his daddy dear Pankaj Dheer to thank for finding his “Jhansi Ki Rani”. Senior Dheer grew an instant fondness for actress and now-bahu Kratika Sengar during an audition for a short film and thought of introducing her to his son. Nikitin and Kratika fell in love and tied the knot in 2014.
Jay Soni
Back in 2013, the Sasural Genda Phool actor Jay Soni went by his family’s conviction and had a hush-hush engagement with Gujrat-based footwear designer, Pooja Shah. The actor later revealed that he felt like he had known Pooja for years and is head over heels for her. The duo is now happily married and welcomed their baby girl in 2019.
Shraddha Musale
Shraddha Musale, who is loved for her portrayal of Dr. Tarika in C.I.D. was introduced to her husband, businessman Deepak Tomar by her mother. The couple tied the knot in 2012 and their match is definitely #ArrangedMarriageGoals.
Now, Tinder might be the new “matchmaker”. But these TV actors have reinstilled our faith in the age-old institution of arranged marriages.
