The Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Restored My Faith In Mascaras

I got my hands on the coveted Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara almost a year ago after my FYP was flooded with reels of influencers talking about what a great product it was. I was influenced but didn’t expect it to be gobsmacked by the results.

What Is It?

Like most mascaras, the Better Than Sex Mascara is also a product that promises fuller, longer, and more defined lashes. It comes with an hourglass-shaped brush that coats every lash with formula. It also contains lash-loving ingredients like peptides, beeswax, glycerine, and paraffin, to name a few, that not only protect and nourish the lashes but also enable them to stay put for long hours.

Our Thoughts

I don’t know what other mascaras are doing wrong or what this one is doing right, but it’s a 10/10 for me. The jet-black formula is thick but creamy and glides on your lashes smoothly. The hourglass-shaped brush is a little larger than the regular drugstore brushes but I think that worked in my favour since it allowed for more product on my lashes.

My favourite part about this mascara was that it also delivers a slight curl to the lashes thanks to the wand’s unique shape. The tube is also heavy and not only looks but also feels like a luxury product. With the first application, it gives my lashes a good amount of length while also separating them. With the second coat, it makes my lashes look fuller and more voluminous, without making them look fake. It’s also not flaky even after a few hours.

What I didn’t like about this product is that it’s not waterproof. Sure, there’s an alternate waterproof option but if you’re living in a humid city and have oily skin, and have hooded eyes (what are the chances), this one transfers easily. I’ve had to wipe off mascara smudges from both, above and below my eyes on many instances. That being said, it doesn’t fade away easily and continues to make the lashes appear voluminous until removed well with a makeup remover.

How To Use

It’s really simple to use – just sweep the applicator through your lashes. The more you apply, the more voluminous and darker your lashes will seem.

I like to use a lash curler before the mascara since my lashes lack a natural curl.
