There are many ways in which Tina Datta’s Bigg Boss 16 stint has been memorable—her love/hate relationship with Shalin Bhanot, her sassy comebacks, her on-point sartorial choices, etc. However, for us, the most intriguing part of Tina’s journey has been her equation with telly star Sreejita De.
Sreejita and Tina’s relationship has been much more dramatic than any television show they have worked on. They entered the show as enemies and tried to fix things but to no avail. The two said a lot about each other behind their backs and we heard Sreejita making some problematic remarks about Tina as well. Just last month, she talked about her Uttaran co-star’s past relationships. Sreejita told Soundarya Sharma that Tina was jealous of everyone, wanted male attention, and called her a ‘housebreaker’. She also accused Tina of trying to break other people’s relationships due to her insecurities and selfishness.

Of course, the comments didn’t sit well with the Uttaran actress’ mom. In a recent interview, Tina’s mother, Madhumita Datta slammed Sreejita for her ‘housebreaker’ remark. She shared, “Sreejita said Tina broke a lot of homes, and if Tina has indeed broken homes, toh vo log bhi toh bahar aayenge na (these people would have come out as well, right?)” Tina’s mom also revealed why she didn’t confront Sreejit for her comments in the Bigg Boss house.
Madhumita said “If I had scolded her (Sreejita) ya 2 baatein sunayi hoti, toh kya milta mujhe? Kuch nahi milne wala. Jo jawab usko dena hai vo bahar aake de. (Sreejita would have given me rude replies. What would I get out of that? Nothing. Whatever answers she needs to provide, she can do after stepping out of the house) Because Tina’s father wants an answer. That day itself, her father said he needed an answer with proof.”
NGL, we are with Madhumita aunty on this one. Questioning a woman’s dignity like this is unacceptable and outrageous. We hope Sreejita realises this and issues a public apology to Tina. ‘Coz this whole thing was below the belt, fo sho.
