There is something magical about Pakistani weddings. Be it the minimalist makeup of the dulhan or a dastarkhaan full of numerous delicacies, we’ve seen snippets from some ethereal weddings across the border. That said, it is the Pakistani bridal fits that we love the most! While Pakistani brides mostly relying on big designers for the perfect D-day outfit, we recently came across a bride whose mom hand-painted her shaadi ka lehenga.
Pakistan-based model, Zara Peerzada recently tied the knot with her childhood sweetheart, Sarwan Saleh. The model threw an intimate bash for her wedding and turned heads in her beautiful floral lehenga that was hand-painted by her mother. Zara went to Lahore-based designer, Farheen Raza for getting a customised beige-hued lehenga which was later improvised by her mom. She paired it with a gold full-sleeved blouse and an embroidered organza dupatta. Her pure gold jewellery added chaar chaand to the look.
Zara shared the heartwarming story of what went behind finishing her lehenga. She wrote, “This outfit will always be the most amazing thing I have ever worn and will ever wear. It is a love letter between my mother and I. Like any love, it is laden not only with care and devotion but also frustration, some drama, some tears but so, so much love. My mother painstakingly painted this by hand on the floor of our living room because that’s how she likes doing it or on the sofa using a 20-year-old plastic tray as her easel because that is her way.”
What a perfect way to add sentimental value to your bridal outfit! Here, take a look at the gorgeous wedding pictures:
