Kareena Kapoor Khan and Aamir Khan made a rather gracious appearance on the Koffee With Karan Season 7 couch. The duo, who is all geared up for their upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha, made some interesting revelations on the show which led to speculations soon after. During a segment, Aamir revealed that Kareena was actually not their first choice for the role of Rupa.
The director, Advait Chandan and Aamir were looking for a younger actress and were even considering a newbie for the role. Elaborating on this Aamir said, “The casting director mentioned some new actress, who was a newbie. He showed us her video. Kareena too was in that ad. We were looking at the video for someone else. Advait and I were watching and that girl was also very good but when we saw Kareena in that, we were lost in her.” Duh! How can anyone NOT get lost in Bebo?
The 3 Idiots actor further added, “We didn’t think of her originally because we thought of casting someone who is twenty-five. We were stuck in that age group which was very stupid of us and I’m so glad we saw that ad because I cannot imagine anyone else in this role other than Kareena.” Well, Bebo is certainly a bonafide star who can pull anything off.
Although Aamir didn’t mention the newbie he was talking about, netizens started speculating, and they think it is former Miss World, Manushi Chhillar. As it turns out, Kareena and Manushi were seen together in a 2018 commercial for Malabar Gold. In the ad, the Prithviraj actress is seen sharing her wedding day plans with an excited Bebo who expresses that she feels like getting married again after listening to Manushi. Netizens are convinced that the PK star was referring to this ad. NGL, we are pretty convinced too.
As they say, all’s well that ends well. And we’re glad Bebo bagged this role. It has been quite a while since we have seen the queen on the silver screen and we can’t wait to watch Laal Singh Chaddha!
