It’s the “woke” Bollywood era and we’re lovin’ it. From hiring intimacy coordinators to conducting acting workshops, filmmakers leave no stone unturned to make sure that the actors are comfortable while shooting intimate scenes. Recently, Lust Stories 2 actress Amruta Subhash, shared an interesting BTS scoop from the time she filmed her first sex scene for Sacred Games 2. In a candid tête-à-tête with Netflix, she revealed how director Anurag Kashyap was extremely considerate and asked about her period dates before the shoot began.
“My first sex scene was with Anurag, Sacred Games 2. Ye baat hi nahi thi ki woh mard hai ya aurat hai (It did not matter whether he was a man or a woman). The way he was extremely sensitive. He was the one to ask me aapke periods kaun se din hain, uske aas paas woh sex scene mat rakho (When are your periods? Let’s not schedule the scene for those dates). Periods ke dauraan aap scene karoge (You’ll do that during periods)? He asked that! How sensitive,” she said in a conversation with her Lust Stories 2 co-stars Neena Gupta and Tillotama Shome.
For the unversed, in Lust Stories 2, Amruta played domestic help who was found having sex in her employer’s room. The story was written by Konkona Sen Sharma’s. And in Sacred Games 2, she essayed the role of Kusum Devi Yadav, a badass RAW agent chasing after the evil gangster Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui).
With a string of promising projects in the pipeline, Amruta is sure making waves in the industry. We honestly can’t wait.
