Just like a bad carpenter always blames his tools, let’s not follow his footsteps when dealing with our hair care products. More often than not, it isn’t the fault of your shampoo, but your own hair cleansing technique that’s flawed. To rectify it, you must work towards building a solid foundation. Today, we’re going to teach you how to correctly wash your hair and scalp with shampoo.
This is the right way to apply shampoo

Yes, everybody knows how to apply shampoo, but not everyone knows how to use it. Sometimes, we use a lot of it and sometimes, just too little. Remember, the average amount of shampoo product to use is 1 pump of it. Depending on how thick or thin your hair is, you can add or subtract. Now that you have a clearer idea of how much shampoo product to use, let’s move on to the method.
Step 1: Firstly, rinse your hair with lukewarm water.
Step 2: Apply a dollop of shampoo into the palms of your hands and gently rub them together.
Step 3: Start applying shampoo at the nape of your neck and slowly work your way towards the scalp.
Step 4: Gently massage your scalp in circular motions for not more than 3 minutes.
Step 5: Rinse your hair with lukewarm water and you’re done!

Remember, when it comes to using shampoo, a little goes a long way. Too much shampoo product will irritate the scalp and strip it of its natural oils. Don’t apply shampoo directly to your hair and scalp. As mentioned earlier, you’ve got to rub the product first in your palms, create a light lather and then apply it on your scalp. The same technique should be used when using a conditioner. However, instead of your scalp, you will need to apply conditioner only from the mid-lengths of your hair to the tips. Leave the conditioner in your hair for 3 minutes and then wash your hair with lukewarm water. All the best!
