Alia Bhatt is currently basking in the glory of her National Award win. She won the Best Actress for her film Gangubai Kathiawadi, and honestly, she deserves every bit of appreciation for the movie. Meanwhile, her fans are disappointed to know that she’s no longer part of Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious project Ramayan. Earlier, it was reported that Alia and Ranbir Kapoor had been roped in to play the characters of Ram and Sita. But it looks like things have changed and the actress has backed out of the movie. According to a report in India Today, the makers of Ramayan might rope in popular South Indian actress Sai Pallavi for the role of Sita. For the unversed, Sai has won four Filmfare Awards South and two South Indian International Movie Awards. She made her acting debut with the 2015 film Premam. Ever since then, she has established herself in Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil film industry.
Wow, honestly Sai is a stunning actress and her work definitely speaks volumes. It’ll certainly be refreshing to see Sai and Ranbir’s fresh pair on the screen.
Why Alia Backed Out Of Ramayan
According to various reports, a source close to the film revealed why Alia is not part of the film anymore. The source said, “It’s understandable that a magnum opus like Ramayan requires time and intense pre-production work, as they are going into the smallest details of everything to get it right on the screen. Which is why things are progressing at a slower pace. Also, as far as the casting is concerned, Ranbir Kapoor is still committed to playing Lord Ram, while Alia Bhatt- who was approached for the project – is no longer part of it. The actress was in talks for the role of Goddess Sita, but the collaboration didn’t work out because of date issues.”
