Hands up if you find it hard to keep up with your facial exfoliation regime? Same, pal, same. But don’t let exfoliating the skin below your chin fall by the wayside, either. Sloughing off dead skin cells is key to keeping our complexion smooth and healthy. Yes, slathering your body with all the lotion in the world isn’t going to help if there’s dead cell build-up blocking it. So, if you wish to ward off dryness, the extra few minutes spent exfoliating pre-shower is going to make all the difference, trust us.
Although the market is flooded with a wide variety of body scrubs today, we are going to introduce you to inexpensive ways to whip up your body scrub to achieve smooth, glowing skin from head to toe. The best bits? These DIY body scrubs are so good you’ll never forget to slather them.
Step 1: In a bowl, add 2 tablespoons each of sugar, honey, and extra virgin coconut oil.
Step 2: Then add ½ a cup of brown rice flour along with 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder and rose water. Mix all the ingredients together. When you feel the mixture is gritty enough, store your DIY body scrub in a jar.
Step 3: Apply the scrub after you’ve taken a shower to exfoliate your body from head to toe. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water and get ready to shine bright like a diamond!
Step 1: Pour half a cup of ground coffee and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar into a bowl. Then, add a cup of lukewarm olive oil to it.
Step 2: Mix all the ingredients together. Apply the mixture on damp skin and massage gently to remove dead skin cells. Wash off in the shower after 20 to 30 minutes.
Step 1: In a bowl, add ½ a cup of almond flour along with 2½ teaspoons of vitamin E oil.
Step 2: Then, add 1 tablespoon each of glycerine and turmeric powder. Top it off with 25 drops of lavender essential oil. Mix the ingredients together. Slather the finished product on clean, dry skin, while scrubbing gently in circular motions. Let it sit for a few minutes, rinse it off, then follow with moisturizer.
Step 1: For a vanilla scrub that’s good enough to eat, mix 1 cup of brown sugar with half a cup of almond oil.
Step 2: Next, add 1 teaspoon each of vitamin E oil and vanilla extract along with 1 tablespoon of honey.
Step 3: Then, add 2 tablespoons of ground oats and 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel to the paste. Simply mix the ingredients in a glass bowl, store it in an airtight container, and use it for a month. Apply the polish all over your chest, and gently scrub your skin for around 7-10 mins, you can leave it for another 10-15 mins for best results.
We recommend using an uber-nourishing lotion post exfoliation to lock in the hydration and give your skin a silky, smooth texture.
Eat, sleep, exfoliate weekly, repeat!
