Taylor Swift’s Beauty Look At The Nashville Songwriter Awards Deserves An Award Too!

Taylor Swift has been racking up awards like it’s candy on a Halloween trick-or-treat spree. The American singer-songwriter has been bagging awards consecutively throughout her career and last night she added another one to her collection. The Bad Blood singer won the award for the Songwriter-Artist Of The Decade at the NSAI 2022 Nashville Songwriter Awards show which is a great achievement, but we think her beauty look itself deserves a separate award for being utterly iconic. The award-winning artist is always rocking a red lip, yet each time her makeup look is entirely different but always bomb. At last night’s event, the Love Story singer presented a luxe rendition of retro-inspired makeup and it gives us a lesson in how to amp up a signature red lip in style. What most of the camera shots didn’t catch is Taylor’s unique ponytail hairstyle which is also a chic addition to her glitzy red carpet avatar. Here’s a lowdown on her entire beauty game with tips to recreate her hair and makeup.

Taylor Swift’s Luxe Retro Makeup Look

Step 1: Base Rules

When aiming to rock a dewy skin finish like Taylor Swift did, ensure your skincare prep helps balance out your pH levels and controls excess oil production. Follow a CTM routine and then apply an illuminating primer. Blend a glow-boosting foundation on your face and neck followed by a concealer on areas that require extra coverage. Set the concealer and areas that tend to get oily with a translucent powder. Spritz on a mist to set your base.

Step 2: Diamond Drip

Silver eye makeup with diamond shine is the best compliment to red lips. Swipe on a glittery silver eyeshadow all over your lids and lower lash lines. Blend well. Create winged lines with a liquid liner on your upper lash lines and use a black kajal on your lower lash lines. Swipe on two coats of mascara.

Step 3: Glossed Up

Make your complexion shine with glossy makeup products. Opt for a shimmery bronzer and blend it on your jawline, hairline, and cheekbones. Now, pop a hydrating berry-toned cheek tint with a glossy finish on your cheeks. Add a final jolt of shine with a highlighter applied on the high points of your face.

Step 4: Red Velvet

Taylor’s signature red lip featured a touch of silk for the awards function last night. Moisturise your lips well before applying any lip makeup. Dab off the excess balm and then outline your lip shape with a red lip pencil. Pick a nourishing red lipstick with a blue undertone and swipe it on your lips. Dab some gloss or illuminator on the centre of your lips for that silky shine effect.

Taylor Swift’s Bubble Ponytail Hairstyle

The Look What You Made Me Do artist rocked a ponytail hairstyle that is anything but basic. Her hairstyle is a mix of a bubble braid and low ponytail which is pure genius. To get her hairstyle, first, wash your hair with a smoothening shampoo and hair mask. Then, apply serum to damp hair and blow dry it smooth. Divide your hair in half with an upper and lower section just like you would do to recreate a half-up hairstyle. Tie the upper half in a ponytail and then tie another elastic band on the ponytail length which is 3 to 4 inches away from the base. Repeat the same in another 3 to 4 inches. Now, connect the ponytail with two bubble braid sections to the lower section of your hair with an elastic band and there you have it. A textured bubble braid ponytail.
