Priyanka Chopra might have been away from Bollywood but she continues to rule the industry with her media interviews. Ever since her comment on ‘being cornered’ in Bollywood made headlines, many other stars have opened about it. Recently, Taapsee Pannu had a lot to add to what PC revealed about the industry.
ICYMI, while speaking to Dax Shepherd on his podcast Armchair Expert, Priyanka spoke about her decision to shift to Hollywood. “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break,” said the Mary Kom actress.
This comment ruffled a lot of feathers! Many people slammed the actress for defaming Bollywood, but a few also came out in her support.
Recently, Taapsee spoke about Priyanka’s take on Bollywood. In an interview, the Badla actress said, “Bollywood camps aren’t something that people don’t know about. It’s been there forever. It can be the basis of an actor’s friend circle, a certain agency or group that they’re a part of and people’s loyalties differ based on that.”
If I can count on any star for being honest in the nepotism debate, it is Taapsee. After all, she came out of nowhere and started ruling the industry.
That’s not all, Taapsee also said that this experience has not made her ‘bitter’. The actress added that she was aware of the challenges before she made her way to Bollywood. “And if after all that, you still decide to be a part of this industry, then it’s your choice and you can’t complain about it later,” said Taapsee.
Being an outsider is tough in Bollywood, but people like Taapsee and Priyanka just showed the world how it is done. After all, resilience shines through and through!
