Home is where the heart is! No matter how far and to which corner you travel in the world, we all are tethered to our roots. Sushant Singh Rajput may have made it big in Bollywood on his own merit, but he never forgot his humble beginning. Sushant has always been very close to his family, especially after his mother passed away in 2002. But with his busy schedule, the actor never got a chance to visit his hometown. So when he finally got a break after wrapping the shoot of Nitesh Tiwari’s Chhichhore, Sushant made the best use of his time.
The MS Dhoni actor visited his ancestral place in Bihar after 17 whole years! He travelled all the way from Bombay to meet his relatives and extended family. While Sushant has lived in Delhi for the greater part of his life, he was born in Maldiha in Purnea district of the state. He was accompanied by his father KK Singh, cousin brother and a number of relatives. Sushant first went to Maldiha to spend time with his paternal family, and after spending two days with them, he headed to his maternal ancestral home, Bornai in the Khagaria district.

His fans and relatives welcomed the actor with open arms and spent quality time with him. From playing cricket to eating the local delicacies, Sushant seems to have had an incredible time bonding with his loved ones.
There is one thing Sushant did that surprised and left everyone emotional. Apparently, the 33-year old actor’s main reason to visit his hometown was to fulfil his late mother’s wish. Sushant lost his mother when he was just 16, but he owes all his success to her. His mother had asked for a mannat for his successful life when he was a kid. To commemorate her wish, Sushant got a mundan at the temple of Goddess Bhagwati in Khagaria. He did not shave off his hair but completed the ritual by trimming off a strand.
