While Sushant Singh Rajput’s massive fan army is still trying to come to terms with his tragic demise, watching him on screen for the last time in Dil Bechara was even more heartbreaking. The film premiered on Disney+ Hotsar exactly a month ago and became a smashing hit. It became the first Indian film to have a 10/10 rating on IMDb (Internet Movie Database) soon after it was released. Currently, with over 97000 ratings, it stands at 8.9.
Sushant’s fans showered the film with immense love and made it a huge success. His co-star Sanjana Sanghi was also praised for her great work in the film so much so that the actress is overwhelmed with the response for Dil Bechara.
Ecstatic at the kind of tribute Sushant got from the film, Sanjana said that she has derived a lot of strength from the love of their fans. “I know how much strength I have derived from crores of people blessing our film, and helping Sushant get the tribute that he deserves. This is the only balm amidst all these tough things,” she said while talking to a media portal.
The actress, who made her debut as a leading lady with Dil Bechara, said that she has learnt a lot of things during the course of this film and its release. “These two years, only the team knows the kind of blood and passion we put into it. The thing with filmmaking is, there’s a lag between when we work and when the audience sees it. In that lag, is the troublesome time, the perception is different from reality. It taught me that true honesty still has a place in this world. It taught me the power of the love of fans, said Sanjana.

The actress also recalled her experience of working on this film and said that over two years of their lives went into making this film. “For the audience, it’s just a film, but for us as artistes, over two years of our life went into this. Sushant and I did it together, and from the first reading, they are all such stark, clear memories,” said the actress.
Calling Sushant ‘humble and generous’, the actress said that she had found a friend and partner in the late actor. “We really needed to be in touch with each other and our craft. It was a yin and yang kind of situation. I depended on him a lot and vice versa, there was a lot of perspective he drew from me. We would typically think a debutante would entirely depend on a senior actor, he was so humble and generous with his love and advice, he wanted it in equal amounts. I found a friend and partner through and through,” added Sanjana.
Sushant was found dead in his apartment on the morning of June 14. The CBI has recently taken over the death case.
