Having a well-endowed chest isn’t a bad thing. It’s a blessing so many girls would die for! So why try to hide it? Busty women are often told to stick to a certain type of style and absolutely stay away from particular clothes and style. But why? If you are a busty girl who’s sick of following those so called fashion ‘rules’, then this is just for you! Here are 10 fashion rules you absolutely must break along with some amazing styling tips for busty girls.
Rule #1 – Busty girls can’t wear fitted dresses
Girls with a bigger bust are often told to steer clear of dresses that are too fitted and go for shift dresses instead. It’s true that shift dresses make everyone look flattering but that doesn’t mean you have to completely rule out the option of wearing dresses that are body hugging. The key is to make your boobs look in proportion with the rest of your body. Choose a fabric that doesn’t cling to your body and make sure to draw attention to your waist by adding a belt or wearing an empire waist dress. Opt for a v-neck dress to nail the look!
Rule #2 – Busty girls can’t wear horizontal stripes
Oh aren’t we sick of hearing this one? Horizontal stripes are said to make everyone look broader than they are. That may be partially true but you can still make them work for you. Just stay away from fabrics that cling like lycra and choose lighter fabrics like cotton to draw attention to the right areas. Another trick to style your horizontal striped tops is to tuck it in your jeans to define your waist.
Rule #3 – Busty girls can’t wear tube tops
You must be thinking it’s impossible to wear tube tops and strapless styles when you’re busty. But guess what? That’s not true! You can absolutely wear tube tops and you must. The key to making tube tops and dresses work for you is by layering it with a light jacket or a shrug on top. Layering will bring out the beauty of the tube top without attracting attention on your bust. IF you don’t want to wear another layer, then opt for floaty styles.
Rule #4 – Busty girls can’t wear v-neck tops!
Girls blessed with ample busts are sceptical to wear v-neck tees and tops because they think it’ll draw all the attention to their chest. But girls, contrary to popular belief, they can actually flatter your chest well. Just try not to make the area look too busy. Don’t accessorize your neck too much when you wear a v-neck style as it’ll accentuate your boobs. If you wish to accessorize, go for bracelets and accessories that aren’t for your neck.
Rule #5 – Busty girls can’t wear bandeau bikinis
Just like tube tops, bandeau bikinis are something busty women don’t even consider wearing. Whereas bandeau bikinis can look so beautiful on them! Make sure you buy a bikini that is of your size otherwise it’ll keep slipping off and cause extra discomfort that’ll only add to the trouble. Choose colours, prints and patterns that are visually pleasing and not confusing like geometric prints. Just ‘coz you’re overly blessed in the chest area, doesn’t mean you can’t flaunt sexy swimwear!
Rule #6 – Busty girls can’t wear turtlenecks and high necks
There’s no denying that turtleneck tops make your bust look bigger. But the secret to making turtleneck tops, as well as any top with a high neck work for you is by balancing your look. Avoid wearing a full sleeved top and go for one with half sleeves as it’ll make your torso look well balanced. Go for turtleneck crop tops! Pair it with high waist bottoms to elongate your look and make it work for you!
Rule #7 – Busty girls should wear baggy clothes
The first thing people do to hide their problem areas is wearing loose clothes. But baggy clothes will only add weight to your look, particularly your boobs. Considering baggy and loose clothes are SO comfy, we understand if you don’t want to give up on your comfort but just make sure they have a tailored fit. Loose clothes with a sack-like fit will flatter no one! Keep in mind to accessorize wisely and not go over the top with them.
Rule #8 – Busty girls can’t wear prints and patterns
Time and again we’re told that busy tops with too much happening around the chest will make you look more busty than you are. However that might be true, but wearing a top with ruffles or cute prints is not something you can give up on, right? It’s absolutely okay to flaunt your chest when you are blessed with a big bust! Because, why not?
Rule #9 – Busty girls can’t wear crop tops
Who said? Did you know that wearing a crop top and showing your midriff will accentuate your curves so beautifully? To make sure that crop tops look perfect on you, avoid flamboyant patterns or prints and go for solid colours instead. Try layering your crop top with a sleeveless jacket if you don’t want to reveal too much skin.
Rule #10 – Busty girls can’t wear long necklaces
It’s true that heavily accessorizing your neck can make your bust look bigger than it is. But that doesn’t mean you have to give up on necklaces! Avoid going OTT with necklaces and opt for simple chains with a bold pendant or layered necklaces that balance your look perfectly.
