From a much-awaited Indian adaptation of a popular comic to an interesting sports flick—we’ve rounded up a few upcoming releases that we’re positive you’re going to love. Have a look:
The Archies
The Archies has to be one of the most anticipated movies of the year and for all the right reasons. It’s an Indian adaptation of the famous Archie comics and has a stellar star cast featuring Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda. In fact, just today morning, we got our hands on the inside pics from the sets and oh boy, we’re sure it’s going to be a fabulous watch. Here’s hoping the makers give us the release date of the film soon.
Jersey
After watching the trailer of Jersey in December last year, it’s safe to say that it’s set to be another Shahid Kapoor sensation at the box office. The film that will release on April 14, was originally meant to release in the first week of 2022, however, it was postponed due to the pandemic. The storyline revolves around a talented, but failed cricketer who decides to return to cricket in his late thirties. The movie also stars Mrunal Thakur and we’re really looking forward to watching her and Shahid together on the silver screen.
Bhediya
We’re really excited for Bhediya for a lot of reasons. The plot revolves around the story of a werewolf, that has its roots in popular folklore and is inspired by legendary tales of Arunachal Pradesh. With Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon as the lead pair, Bhediya sounds like an interesting addition to the booming horror-comedies in Bollywood.
Jayeshbhai Jordaar
A social comedy under YRF starring Ranveer Singh, Jayeshbhai Jordaar was originally meant to be released on February 25, but it was postponed and will now go on air on May 13. The movie is about an ordinary man, who ends up doing something extraordinary when he’s hurled into a threatening situation. NGL fam, watching Ranveer in a quirky avatar in the official poster has definitely gotten us excited for the flick.
Laal Singh Chadda
Tom Hanks’ Forest Gump still remains one of our favourite movies ever so it’s no surprise that we’re really excited for the Bollywood remake. Starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor, we’re sure this one is going to be a fabulous watch.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2
A sequel to Priyadarshan’s 2007 iconic horror comedy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, the second part stars Kartik Aryan, Tabu and Kiara Advani. We hear that the film releasing on May 2 is set within the halls of a haveli.
Anek
Directed and produced by Anubhav Sinha, Anek sounds like another strong project taken up by Ayushmann Khurrana. The action-thriller film will go on-air on March 31. During a recent interview, the actor shared that it was the film’s script that prompted him to take it up. He said, “It’s only once in a while that an actor comes across a story that makes him jump out of his comfort zone. While I have always backed novel stories, ‘Anek’ pushed me to perform with a renewed zest. I am so proud that we’ve made a film like this and even more fortunate that I got the chance to headline it.” TBH, we love all of Ayushmann’s movies as they’re content-driven and we’re sure this one is no different.
