Sonam Kapoor walked the ramp last night in New Delhi for Indian bridal wear designer Abhinav Mishra. She looked every bit like a goddess, glittering in a regal pink lehenga. We didn’t, however, see Anand Ahuja anywhere. Take a look at Sonam in her pink mirror-work lehenga. Doesn’t she look ethereal?
Her makeup and jewellery, too, perfectly complemented the outfit. Sonam was styled by Mohit Rai and Ayesha Nigam, while her makeup was done by Tanvi Chemburkar.
Sonam was all dolled up because she was the showstopper at Abhinav’s show. The fashion show was held just in time for shaadi season, as Abhinav presented the gorgeous bridal wear from his new Autumn/Winter 2019 collection. The show took place at the Amara Farms in New Delhi. The venue, too, was pretty unconventional, and the setting was unlike any ramp we’ve seen before. Abhinav chose to do away with the conventional ramp and turned the venue into a palatial court instead. The decor was brightly lit, filled with mirrors and chandeliers, while courtesans surrounded the centre stage.

Abhinav shared a video on his Instagram page, telling us a little more about the collection. The caption read, “Through ‘Mehzabeen’ Abhinav has imagined a muse loved beyond boundaries, someone whose aura remains aglow. The festive season begins with a bright ray of sunshine after the dull season of Autumn. Festivals bring strength, perseverance and courage and Mehzabeen by Abhinav Mishra was inspired by these figments of his imagination. The entire showcase is enveloped in a feel-good celebration of love.”
If you’re familiar with Abhinav’s work, it has distinctive craftsmanship and very creative use of mirrors. He pays attention to detail, even in the decor pieces.
