Get, Set, Glow: Skincare Resolutions That You Should Make & Stick To This Year

You can’t achieve radiant skin overnight. Good things take time, and the surest way to get there is to adopt a few habits and develop a solid skincare routine. Remember, the recipe to healthy skin is 30% skincare products and 70% lifestyle habits. For your skin to look and feel healthy inside out, you first have to eat clean, hydrate plenty, and marry your CTM routine. Here are a few skincare resolutions to make this year for radiant skin.

7 Skincare Resolutions To Make This Year For The Best Skin of Your Life

After all, glowing skin is the reflection of overall wellness.

Wash Your Makeup Brushes

Ideally, you have to wash your makeup brushes after every use. If you can’t make time for this, make sure to clean your brushes at least once a week. You see, dirty makeup brushes are breeding ground for bacteria, and when they come in contact with your skin, it’s going to cause breakouts. Hence, to be safe, wash your makeup brushes with water and baby shampoo regularly.

Become Besties With Your SPF

It’s okay to give makeup a miss sometimes, but not sunscreen. Invest in a sunscreen that’s either 30 or above to shield your skin from the dangerous UV rays. For SPF, it should be your last step in your skincare routine and should be applied before makeup.

Note: It takes 20-25 minutes for sunscreen to activate post-application.

Leave Your Pimple Alone

The less you interfere with the pimple, the better it will be for your skin. Sure, it doesn’t look the prettiest, but popping it doesn’t solve the problem either. On the contrary, it will make things worse. You have to follow it up with some pimple post-care treatment or stick on a pimple patch to heal the open zit or premature pimple faster.

Don’t Go To Bed With Makeup On

If you’ve heard this a million times and you still sleep with makeup on, your skin is going to pay a heavy price. Not only does makeup residue clog the pores, but it also causes the skin to age faster. Do your skin a favour and remove your makeup before bedtime, okay?

Breakup With Makeup Wipes

We hate to break this to you, but makeup wipes don’t remove ALL your makeup! It may take off the first layer of makeup, but that’s about it. We suggest that you double-cleanse first by using an oil cleanser, and later, following it up with a water-based cleanser to lock in moisture.

Vitamin C Stands For Bright Skin

Vitamin C is responsible for adding radiance and brightness to dull skin. Look for products like serums, cleansers, sheet masks, face packs, with Vitamin C in them. Also, eat foods rich in Vitamin C such as oranges, strawberries, bell peppers, broccoli, and black current. I recommend crushing one Celin 500 tablet and mixing the powder with your smoothie and juice (run it through your dermatologist once before consuming).

Master The Art of Exfoliation

There are two ways to exfoliate- either use a face scrub or use a chemical exfoliant. Both of these methods help to buff away dead skin cells and help to brighten up the skin. Remember, exfoliation doesn’t have to be an everyday thing. Once or max twice a week should be just fine.

Last but not least, accept your skin for the way it is. Rome was not built in a day. The route to radiant skin is a journey, and you know what helps? Determination and consistency.
