Balika Vadhu 2 premiered on national television in August and we had mixed feelings about it. We expected that the show would focus on raising awareness about child marriages in India and tread the subject with utmost sincerity. While it did that initially and was a massive hit among the audience, the reboot failed to create the same impact. One of the major reasons behind it is the current star cast of the daily soap. Viewers aren’t happy that kids with impressionable minds are playing the main characters of the serial, Jigar and Anandi. Well, it seems that the makers have taken this into account and are all set to bring a major twist in the plot.
The show is heading towards a leap and will soon portray its protagonists as grown-ups. Randeep Rai, who was recently seen in the web series, Pavitra Rishta 2.0, will be playing the role of Jigar. And, the actress who’ll be seen as the grown-up Anandi will defs make you ask ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai?’ We’re sure you must have guessed it by now, we’re talking about Shivangi Joshi.
Pictures from the set of Balika Vadhu has been doing the rounds on the internet. We can see that Shivangi and Randeep have commenced the shooting and will be seen together on the show from December. We have to say that the actors look really cute together and we’re loving their chemistry already.
Earlier, a little birdie told us that TV actress Rhea Sharma was also being approached for the role of the leading lady. But, it seems that the makers have zeroed in on Shivangi and we’re glad. The actress is known for playing strong roles and we’re sure that we will see her bring the fierce side of Anandi on our screen soon.
Shivangi rose to fame with her character, Naira, on YRKKH and interestingly, she had entered the show after it took a leap. We think that she will defs turn out to be lucky for Balika Vadhu 2 and her charm will work once again.
Honestly, we now cannot wait to see Shivangi play one of the most iconic characters of Indian television.
