Shaadi season has officially begun folks! From DeepVeer to the Ambanis, your social media feeds will now be packed with all things wedding till the end of the year.
But let’s face it, any amount of wedding outfit inspiration isn’t enough. With three to four functions at every wedding and the ‘n’ number of wedding cards you’ve already received, the math speaks for itself. As exciting as it might be, the reality is that it’s a struggle organising, and buying, a stylish outfit for so many functions.
That’s why you need to turn to your favourite B-town celebs! And you can start by crossing off at least one outfit off your list, thanks to Shilpa Shetty.
The Bollywood veteran hosted a star-studded Diwali party earlier this week and the saree she wore instantly had ‘shaadi look’ thoughts swimming in our heads.

Shetty wore a mermaid-silhouette saree that had ruffles for pleats. The silver and white Amit Aggarwal ensemble she wore made a serious style statement. And, as is with most of Aggarwal’s creations, this piece too exuded a futuristic and couture vibe.

Now let’s talk about the details; the halter-neck blouse Shilpa wore with the saree had gorgeous metallic embellishments on the bodice. The saree blouse design also consisted of sequins over the ornamental floral print and a deep back that showed off her toned body perfectly.

But, here’s the money shot; the lower half, pre-draped section of the saree had an almost mermaid-like appeal to it. Just imagine entering a function wearing this piece – your fellow wedding-goers won’t know what hit them. A sheer white saree, larger-than-life ruffles for pleats, an attached pallu with a romantic lace panel on the border, that has showstopper written all over it.

The accessories Shilpa chose to wear with her saree were just as dazzling as the saree itself. A diamond tennis bracelet, diamond and emerald cocktail rings, and a pair of sparkly drop earrings added just the right amount of elegance to the Indie-chic ensemble.
We don’t know about you, but we’re definitely not surprises that it was, after all, Shilpa Shetty who chose to wear this edgy number. Which is why she is the uncontended winner of the saree queen title.
