What Is Shilpa Shetty’s DIY Makeup Remover?

In an interview, Shilpa Shetty revealed, “The less I do to my skin, the better it stays. To wipe off make-up, I make my own concoction of Johnson’s baby oil, coconut oil and olive oil, massage this on my face and wipe it off with a towel soaked in warm water.”

Shilpa Shetty basically makes her own cleansing oil to remove makeup from her skin and it is simply genius. Oil concoctions are great for melting even waterproof makeup without causing any dryness or discomfort.

Benefits Of Shilpa Shetty’s Homemade Makeup Remover

Johnson’s baby oil has long been used behind the scenes on shoots to take off makeup. A bunch of professional MUAs recommend it to easily take off makeup after shooting. Johnson’s baby oil mixed with coconut and olive oil makes for an even better makeup remover that easily melts makeup, even waterproof mascaras and lipsticks, in order to be wiped off the skin.

To make Shilpa’s remover, mix a teaspoon of Johnson’s baby oil, coconut oil, and olive oil in a bowl and then apply it on your face. Massage in a circular motion.

Shilpa said that she massages the concoction on her face and that helps break down the makeup. She then takes a damp towel and wipes off the oil and makeup which ensures the skin is still moist and there is no harsh rubbing required to wipe off the makeup. So once your face looks muddy due to the melted makeup, take a towel dipped in warm water and squeeze out the excess water. Wipe the damp towel over your face and eyes to take off the makeup with ease. Now proceed to wash your face with a gentle face wash and make sure to moisturise your skin well after this.

After using this DIY, your skin will feel moisturised and clean and a rinse with a gentle face wash after this is all you need for your skin to be completely clear of makeup.
