After Ananya Pandey, seems like another member from B-town’s coolest girl squad is all set to claim the big screen now. Any guesses who that might be? Well, of course, you do. It is Shanaya Kapoor who just landed herself a deal with none other than Karan Johar and the much-coveted Dharma Productions for her debut film.
Earlier today, Karan made it Insta official with a video montage of Shanaya, welcoming her to the #DCASquad. He wrote, “Another beautiful addition to our growing @dcatalent family! Welcome to the #DCASquad, @shanayakapoor02. Her enthusiasm, perseverance and diligence is so amazing to see. Join us in showering your love & blessings as she begins her first film with @DharmaMovies, this July! Watch this space for film details!!!”
He also posted a carousel of her pictures and further added, “Welcome to the #DCASquad, @shanayakapoor02! It’s going to be an unforgettable and exciting journey that begins with your first film with @DharmaMovies, this July.”
Shanaya is, of course, elated right now and expressed her excitement by posting a photo grid on Instagram. “Woke up today with the most grateful heart! Here’s to a great journey ahead with the @dcatalent family. Excited to kickstart my FIRST FILM (ahhh!!) this July by @DharmaMovies, can’t wait for you all to see what we’re up to! Stay tuned! #DCASquad,” she wrote in the caption.
It was just last year that Shanaya made a cameo in Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives of Netflix. It captured Shanaya’s day at the la bal Paris and throughout the show, her mom and friends kept talking about Shanaya’s big Bollywood debut. For the unversed, Karan Johar has produced the much-talked-about reality show and since then a lot of speculations have been made about how he’d be one launching Shanaya. Well, as it turns out, he is, in fact, all set to launch her now.
A little birdie also tells us that Gurfateh Pirzada and Lakshya Lalwani will join Shanya in lead roles for her debut film. While we have already seen Gurfateh in the Netflix film Guilty, Lakshya would be making his Bollywood debut with Dostana 2 this year.
We can’t help but wonder if Student Of The Year 3 is in the making, right?
