Beyonce just turned 42 and I’m still so mesmerised by her beauty. Ever since she became a musical icon, she’s not just delivered consecutive hits but has also maintained that goddess-level glow and how! Her skin really reflects light and I desperately needed to know her makeup secrets. And Beyonce’s makeup artist finally spilled the tea.
Celebrity MUA Sir John has revealed exactly how he gets Queen Bey to glow and it involves the strategic application of two products.
Beyonce’s Glowy Makeup Secret
Beyonce’s MUA Sir John spoke about how it is so important to apply highlighter strategically. He recommends applying a highlighter all over the sides of the face but avoids applying any of it on the centre of the face.
In the interview, Sir John said, “I want my girls to glow but it has to be strategic. That means you can be as shiny as you want to on the sides of your face – if you run your finger up your face and down your face, that’s where your glow should stop. It should never go in between your eyeballs. You should never have anything glowy on the front of your cheeks, on your chin, on the tip of your nose, it’s a bad idea.”
Sir John basically applies highlighter on the sides of her face like the cheekbones, brow bones, and jawline and he usually uses Marc Jacobs Beauty’s Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter on Beyonce. About the highlighter, he said, “Dew Drops are worth their weight in gold. It’s the one thing I have in my bag everywhere. I use it for concerts, for shoots, for tours—I use it religiously.”
Unfortunately, this product isn’t available in India, but the LoveChild Masaba – Caramel Custard Bronze Face Illuminator is a great dupe for it.
The final step is applying blush. An apricot shade is what works best for Beyonce, according to Sir John. He said that after highlighter, “I do an apricot blush on the apples. That’s strategically placing your glow. That sets the pros from the beginners and the pedestrians.” One of the best apricot blushes that Beyonce has been rumoured to use on repeat is the NARS Orgasm Blush and it has a shimmer-infused formula as well.
If I were you, I’d adopt Beyonce’s glowy makeup routine ASAP.
