Ever since Netflix started original series depicting the lives of gangsters and mafias from across the world, we have explored a new side of TV viewing. Watching documentaries and series about real-life people is now the new thing, not that we are complaining. We get to know different sides to the story that we’d have never found out about, no matter how much we read about them.
So, when Netflix announced the same on the lives of some Indian billionaires who have, time and again, landed themselves into legal trouble, we could not keep calm. We’re talking about the biggest conmen of India–Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Subrata Roy, and Byrraju Ramalinga Raju–whose lives will be talked about in the upcoming documentary. Titled Bad Boy Billionaires: India, it will stream on the OTT platform on September 2. Here is the trailer:
In the trailer, we can see a few financial experts, Indian as well as international, shedding some light on the lives of these alleged frauds who have fled the country, causing a stir. These experts reveal how the “billionaires” scammed multiple people and banks and the sheer manipulation it took to convince and con them to reach the heights of success. How these “criminals” climbed the road to success by scheming and framing those around them, it’s all in there!
“What would you do to make it to the top? To build an empire? To maintain an image? Bad Boy Billionaires answers just that. Dive into the stories of India’s most infamous billionaires–Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Subrata Roy, and Byrraju Ramalinga Raju as they plan, plot and manoeuvre through their rises and falls. Watch as insiders and experts discuss what made these men genius and, in some cases, the greatest conmen,” says the synopsis on Netflix, clearly stating that at the end of the day all you want to do is be on the top and make an empire. By hook or by crook.
Recently, when Netflix India posted this on their Instagram page, netizens lost it. Those living in America requested Netflix India to stream the same in Canada and the US as well! While some called them the “Thugs of Hindustan”, others called them legends. Clearly the stir around this documentary is making it hard to wait. But, hey, September 2 is only a week away!
Are you excited? We know we are!
