Say Yes To The Dress India

Say Yes To The Dress India Is Finally Happening & We Can’t-Wait For All The fun & Drama To Unfold

For the fashion-savvy bride, selecting the perfect wedding dress can easily be one of the most difficult decisions that she’d ever make. The bride is, after all, finally putting a pin on a dream that she might have harboured since childhood. Now, herculean as the task sounds, it is also a lot of fun and the most exciting part of wedding preparations for the bride. Selecting the perfect bridal dress is an unparalleled experience and an emotion that TLC’s Say Yes To The Dress has been encapsulating in the reality TV format for almost a decade and a half now. Needless to say, the show is a mega-hit and enjoys a huge following in India too. Well, guess what? In just two days, Discovery+ is launching India’s own version of Say Yes To The Dress and here’s why we are so excited for it to finally go air on December 8th:

Melting Pot Of Indian Brides

The great Indian wedding is a legend, a phenomenon, and an experience unlike any either. What adds to the beauty of the entire concept of shaadis in India is the fact that from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, you’ll come across a variety of wedding rituals and celebrations–each one different from the other but equally beautiful. With Say Yes To The Dress India, the makers have ensured to keep that in mind. They have heavily vetted a long list of entries to finally zero down on 16 brides with unique personalities to bring a Pan India flavour to the show. The show aims to capture the emotions, the fun, and the drama in their raw glory and we gotta say just eight episodes kinda sound too little for something that promises to be this epic.

Diversity Of Fashion

Those who have religiously followed TLC’s Say Yes To The Dress in the past decade know that it is all about piles and piles of white wedding gowns with hardly any exceptions. Well, this is exactly where Say Yes To The Dress India differs from its American counterpart. With 16 brides coming from different regions of the country to make for a diverse cast, you’d come across all sorts of styles, silhouettes, and garments in terms of bridal wear. From regal silk sarees to offbeat lehenga sets, you’d get to witness the real potential of Indian designers and fashion. The illustrious lineup of the designers for the show includes Neeta Lulla, Abhinav Mishra, Varun Bahl, Sandeep Khosla, Zara Umrigar, Anju Modi, and Rahul Mishra among others. Natasha Dalal will also be making her OTT debut with the show and will be seen assisting a bride in making her dream transform into a reality. Additionally, Discovery+ has roped in bridal stylist and fashion consultant Divyak D’souza to host the show and it would be interesting to see as he guides them to finally say “yes” to the perfect dress.

Well, while we are yet to give our verdict on the fashion looks that feature on Say Yes To The Dress India, we are definitely saying “yes” to the show. Bring it on, we say!
