Can’t Give Lap Dance On National TV: Sara Gurpal Breaks Silence On Her BB Eviction

The current season of Bigg Boss is unlike any other for a number of reasons. And among them, the fact that the house is hosting three seniors this year trumps it all. Surely, the viewers have been loving ex-contestants Hina Khan, Gauahar Khan, and Sidharth Shukla’s presence in the house. However, one of their recent decisions left everyone wondering if they should have been given the kind of autonomy they are enjoying in the house.

It started earlier this week with a surprise eviction task where the seniors were given the power to evict any one of the contestants nominated by the housemates. It was obviously a tough call and the seniors took a long time to come to a consensus. While Sidharth wanted Sara Gurpal to leave, Hina and Gauahar weren’t in favour of this call. However, Sid prevailed and Sara was thus evicted within a week of her Bigg Boss 14 journey.

Soon after her eviction, netizens started questioning the seniors’ decision. People argued in her favour by saying that she was certainly not the least deserving contestant in the house, already had strong connections, and also performed pretty well in tasks except one where she was supposed to entice Sid.

The evicted contestant has finally broken her silence on the entire row. She shared in interaction with a leading daily, “Chot ke bavajud main achche se game khelne ki koshish kar rahi hoon, woh bhool kar aap aise task ki baat karte hai jisme main comfortable nahi thi. Yeh character aur personality ka show hai, toh meri personality aisi hai ki main national television par lap dance nahi de sakti. Lekin yeh sahi hai ya galat, janta ko judge karne do (Without considering that I was trying to play the game despite my injury, you talk about a task that I was not comfortable with. This is a show about character and personality, and my personality is such that I cannot give a lap dance on national television. This is a show about character and personality, and my personality is such that I cannot give a lap dance on national television. Whether this is right or wrong should have been judged by the audience).”

Sara further added, “Task mein bhi sirf Sidharth ko lap dance ke alava baaki do task maine kaafi achche kiye (When it comes to tasks, except for the one in which I was required to give Sidharth a lap dance, I performed quite well in the other two),” she said.

In the interview, Sara also talked about how she started menstruating during her time in the house and was really uncomfortable owing to the lack of clothes. However, she didn’t create a scene because of it and adjusted with whatever she had. She adopted a similar approach after incurring an eye injury from Nikki Tamboli’s acrylic nails during the bulldozer task. She carried on despite the injury and it was only after her task ended that Sara panicked and started shouting how she could not open her eyes.

In fact, within a week of her stay in the Bigg Boss house, Sara had already gotten her hair chopped in a task. However, she was visibly not comfortable with the idea of flirting with Sid and giving him a lap dance on national television. That said, the task was actually widely criticised on social media owing to its sexist premise

Following her eviction, the audience have also been talking about how her not performing in that task led to her ultimate elimination given that it was Sid who convinced the other two seniors for the same. Well, whatever led to her elimination, it was actually fun watching her in the Bigg Boss house including her camaraderie with Shehzad Deol. And just in case, the makers plan to bring her back, we’d be really looking forward to it.
