If there’s one thing that we love about Sara Ali Khan, it is her candid attitude. The actress is known to speak her mind and we find it refreshing AF! Whether it’s confessing her crush on national television or talking about her parents’ separation, we can’t help but admire her. Speaking of the latter, Sara just opened up about dealing with Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s divorce as a kid and here’s what she said.
During a recent interview, Sara said, “I’ve always had the tendency to mature a bit faster than others my age. And even at the age of 9, I think I had the maturity to see that these two people living together in our home were not happy. And suddenly, they were much happier living in two new homes. For instance, my mom, who I don’t think had laughed in 10 years, was suddenly happy, beautiful, and excited, like she deserves to be. Why would I be unhappy if I have two happy parents in two happy homes?”
She further added that the incident wasn’t all that difficult for her. She said, “They’re both infinitely happier and in a much more positive space today. I see my mom laughing and joking and being silly, which is something I have missed for so many years. It’s a joyful relief to see her like this again.”
Saif and Amrita were one of the most-loved couples of Bollywood in the 90s. Apparently, the Bhoot Police actor had gone against his family to marry someone who was much older than him. The two had a whirlwind romance, tied the knot in 1991 and got divorced in 2004. They share two kids, Sara and Ibrahim Ali Khan.
Well, nobody deserves to be unhappy in a relationship. Staying single is way better than being miserable with someone else. We’re glad that Saif and Amrita are much happier today and kudos to Sara for speaking about it!
