Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla are certainly telly world’s most loved couple. They first met at a common friend’s house where they instantly felt a connection. Love blossomed between the two and they dated for eight years before tying the knot on June 21, 2018. And after going through several ups and downs, Rubina is finally living a blissful life with Abhinav. But did you know before finding her Princes Charming, Rubina dated her co-actor from her debut show? Well, the actor is now part of Bigg Boss OTT 2.
For the unversed, Rubina made her telly debut with the hit serial, Choti Bahu in 2018. And guess who was paired against her in the show? It was none other than BB OTT 2 contestant Avinash Sachdev.
How It Began
Before they started dating, they didn’t talk to each other for at least three weeks. Apparently, they both found each other to be arrogant and rude. However, it was during an outdoor shoot when both actors became good friends and later fell madly in love with each other. Avinash fell head-over-heels in love for Rubina and had plans to get hitched. So much so that he spoke to Rubina’s grandfather who gave his blessings to the jodi. At the time, rumours also it that the couple had secretly gotten married as Rubina was seen fasting on karwa chauth for Avinash. But they later rubbished the reports.
How It Ended
Things later took an ugly turn after Rubina and Avinash parted ways in 2013, leaving everyone shocked. It was reported that the reason behind their breakup was Avinash’s growing proximity to another actress. Reportedly, he cheated on Rubina and was caught with another girl. Avinash once shared what went wrong between them. He said, “Rubina and I were very insecure about everything in life. We never used to give space to each other”
Rubina too once opened up about her heartbreak and said, “The experiences, heartbreak and downfall in my life has made me a stronger woman. I emerged stronger. At that point in time I didn’t realize it. I grudged, sulked and asked why this happened to me. That lamenting had to come to a closure someday because that’s not me. I believe in evolution. But now I am very grateful that it happened to me and I went through that bad patch in my life.”
After parting ways, Avinash married his co-star Shalmalee Desai in 2015 but separated in 2017 due to compatibility issues. He then dated Palak Puruswani but they broke up as well in 2020. Palak was part of BB OTT 2 as well.
Honestly, we can’t imagine Rubina with anyone else but Abhinav. Glad she found her soulmate in him.
