Rihanna always knows how to make a jaw-dropping appearance. As the star arrived fashionably late to the Dior show at Paris Fashion Week, a paparazzi called at her saying ‘you’re late’ to which the star replied ‘No shit!’ and can we just say we love her unapologetic attitude. Rocking an all-black lacey lingerie number, the beauty mogul made a case for bold burgundy lips, once again proving that when in a rush, resort to a statement makeup look that is easy and effortless.
Riri looked absolutely stunning as always and from what we gather, her beauty look is one we can all take inspo from and recreate with ease. It’s simple yet high on impact and that’s all we could ask for when we’re crunched on time. Here’s a step-by-step decode on how to slay her look.
The icon has an affinity for matte bases. To get her soft matte skin, prep with a gentle cleanser, toner, and moisturiser, and then apply a mattifying primer. Blend a cream foundation on your face and neck and follow it with an illuminating concealer on the under eye and chin areas. Set the base with a setting spray.
Pay attention to your brows as it can make or break your look. Opt for brown brow products and create a gradient effect by using a dark brown brow pencil only on the inner half of your eyebrows and a lighter shade on the outer half. Swipe on a brow mascara to set the strands in place as a final step.
Use a brown eyeshadow on the crease lines and upper lash lines and extend into wings on the outer corners while leaving the lids bare. Now, blend a silver shimmer eyeshadow on the lids and tightline the upper lash lines with black liner. Apply mascara.
Lightly sweep a bronzer underneath the cheekbones, and on the hairline and jawline to sculpt your visage and add warmth. Mix a drop of strobe cream with a cream blush and blend it on your cheeks. Use the same silver-toned strobe cream to highlight the high points of your face like the bridge of the nose, brow bones, cheekbones, and Cupid’s bow.
Exfoliate and moisturise your lips and then swipe on a lip plumper to boost its volume. Dab off the excess product and outline your Cupid’s bow and the centre of your lower lip with a liner. Blend the lip liner to define the sides of your lips as well and then fill in colour with a burgundy red lipstick.
Her locks were naturally textured and set in a half-up style. To get the look, first, wash your locks with a nourishing shampoo and conditioner. Apply a serum to the lengths while it’s still damp and then brush to detangle any knots. Divide your mane in half by creating an upper and lower section. Saturate the roots of the upper section with hairspray and comb the hair away from the face. Tie the upper section into a ponytail and brush your baby hairs with a spoolie doused in hairspray to clean up the look.
