Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh make one of the cutest Bollywood couples of all time and there are no two ways about it. Their last movie together was Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya and it released in 2012. The two got married a week before their film hit the theatres and the actress took a break from acting after that. It means that we have not seen their chemistry on the silver screen for a decade now and we want this situation to change stat. Well, it seems that fairy godmother has listened to our wish and turned it into a reality.
The couple will be starring opposite each other in a movie soon and it will be special for several reasons. Not only it will mark the return of Genelia to acting after a decade, but it will also mark the directorial debut of Riteish. The actors shared the deets about their upcoming film, Ved, on their social media handles recently. Take a look:
Riteish will not just direct the Marathi film, but will also be seen in the leading role along with his wife. The project will also mark the debut of another talented actress, Jiya Shankar. Taking to his Instagram handle, he shared the first poster look of the movie and wrote in the caption, “After being in front of the camera for 20 years, I take a big leap to stand behind it for the first time. As I direct my first Marathi film, I humbly ask you all for your good wishes and blessings. Be a part of this journey, be a part of this madness.”
The poster looks quite stunning and is already making us curious about the movie. We can see the actor lying on a boat with water all around him and birds flying above him. Ved in Marathi means ‘madness’ and we are sure that the film’s plot is going to be insanely amazing.
Genelia also penned down a sweet note on her ‘Gram and talked about returning to acting after a hiatus of ten years. She wrote, “Being born in Maharashtra, my heart yearned to do a film in Marathi for years and was hoping there would be a script where I could just say this is it.. And then this happened – My first Marathi film, me coming back to acting after 10 long years and being part of a dream where my husband Riteish Deshmukh directs for the first time and I get to share space with a beautiful co-actor Jiya Shankar who gets introduced under our production house MFC.”
While the couple has not yet revealed the release date of their movie, we cannot wait to see Riteish and Genelia’s chemistry on the big screen once again.
