7 Reality Show Stars Who Completely Disappeared After Their Two Minutes of Fame

Do you know what singers Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Arijit Singh have in common? They all started their careers with different Indian reality shows. In fact, shows like Bigg Boss, Dance India Dance, and Roadies have given a platform to many stars to showcase their talent. However, while there are some who have risen to stardom over the years, there are also other contestants who just disappeared right after their two-minutes of fame.

Remember the time when the nation debated furiously over the result of Indian Idol Season 1? And, if Amit Sana deserved to win the trophy more than Abhijeet Sawant? Well, now might be a good time to wonder where they are now.

If you got major throwback feels after hearing these names, then here are some other names that will make you feel nostalgic.

7 Reality Show Contestants Who Disappeared Into Thin Air After Their Short-Lived Fame

Brace yourselves because we’re taking you on a trip down memory lane and reminding you of some contestants that were quite popular once upon a time. However, chances are that you may not have heard about them in years!

Abhijeet Sawant

Abhijeet Sawant created a nation-wide debate when he won the first Indian Idol in 2005. But honestly, people would have argued the same way had his biggest competitor on the show, Amit Sana bagged the trophy. NGL, we had actually thought that these two singers would be the next big thing in the Hindi music industry. What went wrong?!

Ashutosh Kaushik

Remember the time when Raghu Ram used to judge MTV Roadies? Yep, there was a time when the controversial reality show was more cringey than it is today. And, while we’re on the subject, we have to remind you of Roadies 5 winner Ashutosh Kaushik. If that didn’t ring a bell, then this surely would-he was also the winner of Bigg Boss Season 2. Any idea where he is now? Nope, we don’t either.

Interestingly enough, Rahul Mahajan rose to fame in the very same season despite not winning the trophy.

Bandgi Kalra

Bandgi Kalra and Puneesh Sharma had garnered a lot of attention during their stint on Bigg Boss 13. It was, obviously, because of their love story that started on the most scripted note ever. While they genuinely fell in love with each other later, Bandgi was never seen in a reality show again. But, on a sweeter note, the lovebirds are still together.

Manveer Gurjar

Bigg Boss 15 will introduce non-celebrities in the house, but the concept was already done in Bigg Boss 10. In fact, it was the only season in BB history that was won by a non-celeb- Manveer Gurjar. His friendship with another gharwala, Manu Punjabi was one of the major highlights of their season. While we saw Manu as a Bigg Boss 14 challenger recently, Manveer disappeared shortly after winning the trophy in 2016.

Qazi Toukeer

We are honestly glad that Fame Gurukul went off-air before the meme culture took over social media platforms. We are scared to think of what the trolls would do to the show now.

Qazi Toukeer was the first winner of the cringe reality show. However, more than his singing skills, he was popular for his hairstyle and fashion sense. In fact, his stardom on Fame Gurukul had overpowered the fan-following of Arijit Singh, who was also a contestant on the show.

Interestingly enough, almost a decade after winning the trophy, the singer appeared in the song Afghan Jalebi in 2015.

Isha Sharvani

Isha Sharvani participated in the reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 5 and dazzled the audience with her amazing dance moves. NGL, we were extremely disappointed when the Kisna actress couldn’t win the trophy due to an injury. But, what surprised us more was the fact that she disappeared into thin air shortly after the season ended.

Elesh Parujanwala

Instagram

It was surprising that Rakhi Sawant did not mention Elesh Parujanwala in Bigg Boss 14 even once. She talked about her husband Ritesh and even her ex-boyfriend Abhishek but surprisingly, did not mention the guy who won her Swayamvar! Yep, in case you forgot, Rakhi had a swayamvar on national television in 2009 (we call her the queen of reality shows for a reason, guys). And, it was Elesh who had won the title of the most suitable man for the actress.

However, not only did Elesh disappear soon after winning the show, but his marriage was called off as well.

So, guys, how many of these faces reminded you of your good ol’ days?
