The romance that brews in the Bigg Boss is easily the biggest reason why the reality show has managed to survive to date. It is kinda magical to see two individuals finding a little comfort in each other amid the chaos of the BB house. It’s like a film unfolding in front of us for three months straight. However, what we do not realise is that we are all feasting on those BB couples’ vulnerabilities. It is human nature to look for support when presented with anything uncomfortable and that’s exactly what happens in the case of a lot of BB romances. We, however, refuse to look at it that way and want them to be our touchstones for true love and whatnot without realising the kind of pressure it puts on the people involved. Something similar happened with Raqesh Bapat and Shamita Shetty after Bigg Boss OTT and Bigg Boss 15. At multiple times, the couple tried to clarify that they were just exploring the relationship to see where it goes but we wanted it to be something bigger. There was also a trending hashtag on Twitter—#ShaRa! This is exactly why when the couple decided to part ways, they avoided talking about the split.
However, in the past few months, we have been hearing rumours about Raqesh and Shamita’s breakup and have known for a fact that something is amiss. That said, we were also kinda sure that they’d never talk about it unless necessary and the time has arrived. As Raqesh and Shamita prepare for the release of their music video together, the couple found it necessary to share the truth with all the fans who have been invested in their love story. Both Shamita and Raqesh earned respect for their unflinching honesty during the BB days and looks like that’s just who they are.
Last night, both of them took to Instagram and shared that they aren’t romantically involved anymore. Shamita shared a note on her Insta story and wrote, “I think it’s important to make this clear. Raqesh and I are no longer together and have not been for a while, but this music video is for all the beautiful fans who have given us so much love n support.”
And even though Raqesh rarely speaks about his private life, he too shared a note and wrote, “Destiny made our paths meet in the most unusual circumstances. Thank you so much to the beautiful Shara family for all the love and support. Being a private person, I did not want to publicly announce parting ways, however, I feel we owe it to our friends to put it out. I am mindful that this will break your hearts but hope you can continue to shower your love on us as individuals too.”
Well, kudos to Shamita and Raqesh for always keeping it honest and dignified. It takes integrity to jeopardise the release of your own music video just because you do not want to mislead the audience. That’s exactly what we admire about these two. Here’s hoping that Raqesh and Shamita find success and happiness in their individual journeys now!
