Today is Ranveer Singh’s birthday or should it be called National Over Excitement Day?! Bollywood heartthrob, energizer bunny, powerhouse performer Ranveer Singh is hands down one of the finest actors we have in the industry. His passion for cinema, acting prowess and the ability to step into the character’s shoes, make him a fan favourite.
With no connections in the industry and no godfather whatsoever, Ranveer carved a niche for him and proved his mettle. He made his debut in 2010 with Band Baaja Baaraat and there’s been no looking back ever since. We can’t imagine a better Ram Rajaadi, a more polished Peshwa Bajirao Ballal, a more villainous Alauddin Khilji, a more dedicated Murad Ahmed and a funnier Sangram Simmba Bhalerao. There’s no denying the fact that Ranveer is incredibly talented and the nation loves him.
Currently, Gully Boy actor is keeping busy with his upcoming film ’83, which is a biopic on our former Indian Cricket Captain, Kapil Dev. Today, on his birthday, he shared the first look from the film and we must admit, we’re in awe!
He took to his Twitter to share the image and wrote, “On my special day, here’s presenting THE HARYANA HURRICANE 🌪KAPIL DEV 🏏🏆@83thefilm @kabirkhankk @deepikapadukone @madmantena @Shibasishsarkar @vishinduri @RelianceEnt @FuhSePhantom @NGEMovies”
The resemblance to former Indian skipper Kapil Dev is uncanny, isn’t it?
The news of Ranveer playing Kapil Dev first came out two years ago. There were rumours that Deepika Padukone will play his wife in the movie, especially after the two tied the knot in November last year.
Ranveer cleared the air by announcing her entry on his Instagram. He shared a picture of himself, Deepika and Kabir Khan, the film’s director and wrote, “Who better to play My Wifey than My Wifey?! 😉❤️@deepikapadukone plays Romi Dev in @83thefilm !!! 🏏🎥🎞Genius casting courtesy @kabirkhankk 😄🙌🏽 #83squad”
Ranveer, who is known to go to any extent to step into the shoes of the character he’s playing, moved out of his marital home and went to Delhi to stay with cricketer Kapil Dev for ten days.
According to a source close to him said, “He wants to see, live and breathe Kapil before he starts shooting.”
“I’m looking forward to spending more time with Kapil sir. He is kind, generous, warm and funny. I had a memorable two days with him in Dharamsala. I’m going to spend more time with him in Delhi to learn more about him,” the actor said in a statement.
He further added, “It’s a first of its kind exercise in my acting process where I’ll be studying the man himself in the flesh for my onscreen portrayal of him. I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to learn about life from a true legend.”
We’re super excited for the movie, aren’t you?
But at the moment, we’re more curious to see pictures from Ranveer’s birthday celebrations and DP’s loving birthday wish for him.
