The influx of creative and original content in the digital space has already lured notable names of Hollywood and now our very own Bollywood celebs are following suit. Saif Ali Khan, Sushmita Sen, Kay Kay Menon, and Radhika Apte among other actors swiftly migrated from the big screen to OTT platforms. Series like Scam 1992, Sacred Games, Aarya, Special Ops proved that the web-series revolution in the country is here to stay.
Now, another Bollywood A-lister is all set to make his digital debut with a thrilling series. Any guesses? Hint: He’s known for his eccentric fashion choices! We’re pretty certain that you’ve figured out we’re talking about our all-time fave actor Ranveer Singh. Yes, the Dil Dhadakne Do star is all set to make his digital debut in collaboration with British adventurer, writer, television presenter Bear Grylls. Ranveer’s big-budget adventure series is likely to be bankrolled by Netflix.
A little birdie tells us that Ranveer and Bear Grylls have been in talks for a wilderness adventure series. They have almost closed the deal with the OTT platform and we’ll see the two share screen-space for the first time. “It is going to be one of the biggest non-fiction shows we have seen in India, also marking Ranveer’s digital debut,” revealed a source. The actor is expected to start shooting in the next two months in Siberia. “Around this time, the region is really testing and Ranveer will have to prepare hard to survive in extreme weather conditions,” the source added.
Looks like Ranveer has a busy year ahead. The actor is currently awaiting the release of his film 83 in which he plays the role of former cricketer Kapil Dev. He will also soon begin shooting for Karan Johar’s next directorial venture along with Alia Bhatt. And he also has other films like Cirkus and the Hindi adaptation of Anniyan in the pipeline.
TBH, we’re not surprised with Ranveer’s digital debut. I mean, the actor has spoken enough about working on diverse and exciting roles. And given how popular digital series are ATM, it was only a matter of time the actor chose to enter the industry. One thing is for sure, the show is going to be an epic adrenaline-packed adventure and we can’t wait for it to release soon.
