Ranveer Singh faced a painful heartbreak in college and surprisingly, Aditya Roy Kapur had something to do with it! Shocker, right? Well, during an appearance on Neha Dhupia’s radio talk show No Filter Neha back in 2017, our Bajirao candidly opened up about when his ex-girlfriend broke up with him and chose to date Aditya instead (ouchh!).
Ranveer explained that back in college, Aditya was every girl’s fantasy (not much has changed, we must say!). So, the girl Ranveer was completely head over heels in love with, broke up with him after many years to be with Mr Hot & Handsome Kapur. Ranveer said, “He was like every girl’s fantasy in junior college and the girl that I was crazy about that time who is now married with a kid, so she, I was really like, this is like, I was mad about her. It was a good 4-5 years that I was crazy over her. And then she finally broke up with me. It was in order to move onto a certain Aditya Roy Kapur.”
Sounds like Ranveer was pretty serious about the girl back then and the breakup really broke his heart. We wonder if Aditya knew about this angle, but the Kalank actor took almost 3 years to explain his side of the story. At least, now we know!
Aditya recently said in an interview to a media portal that he did not know about Ranveer’s feelings at the time. In fact, Aditya said that Ranveer was just being dramatic as he had started dating the girl in question months after her breakup. “Only around eight months after that, did I start seeing her. Maybe, I didn’t know how he felt.”

Coming back to the story, we must that it does not seem like Aditya really stole anyone’s girlfriend after all (thank god for that)! Ranveer is now happily married to his lady love, Deepika Padukone, and we doubt his college heartbreak still bothers him. They say that small heartbreaks (that don’t seem so small at the time) are just a way of getting you closer to your true love. Well in Ranveer’s case, it most certainly was the case. The actor will soon be seen in Kapil Dev’s biopic, 83.
As for Aditya Roy Kapur, rumour has it that he is dating the supermodel Diva Dhawan. However, the actor claims that he is very much single. He will soon be seen in the upcoming movie Ludo.
