It’s here! That time of the year when you can gorge on fried food without guilt because it’s raining outside. I love the monsoon season, from kachori to choley bathure, my cravings go haywire on rainy days. So I made a list of munchies you may be craving and the best places to get them!
1. Samosa – Janpath, New Delhi
Those mini-samosas you could buy at your school canteen still send my heart racing!
2. Bread-Pakoda – Kamla Nagar, New Delhi
Even Ranveer Singh knows his priorities, Bread pakode ki kasam.
3. Cutting Chai – Lucky Tea Stall, Kandivali, Mumbai
Chai pe charcha, while it drizzles by the tea-stall, has a charm of its own!
4. Valaikai Bajji – Marina Beach, Chennai
A South-Indian beachside speciality, Bajji can also be made with huge chillis.
5. Momos – Delhi Haat, New Delhi
Because sizzling hot momos win at life every single day.
6. Jalebi – Chandni Chowk, New Delhi
Did anyone say rabri and jalebi? This rainy-season has me craving Chandni-Chowk’s jumbo-sized jalebi.
7. Maggi – Hungry Head India, Mumbai
I’d welcome anything that can make my Maggi taste better than it already does and Hungry head makes 50 types of Maggi!
8. Chole Bhature – Baba Nagpal Corner, Amar Colony, New Delhi
I can personally vouch for the amazing choley bhature these people sell, absolute perfection!
9. Malpua – Noorani Milk Centre, Mohammad Ali Road, Mumbai
Some things are legendary because you can never have enough of it, malpua falls right into that category.
10. Kachori – Nathu Sweets, Bengali Market, New Delhi
I’m going to end this list and go get myself a plate of snacks ASAP.
