Some DIYs are just fabulous. They’re multi-functional; meaning that they are just as effective for the hair as they are for the skin. I love such ingredients because I’m pretty lazy anyway — and whipping up separate things for the skin and hair just seems like a task to me.
I recently discovered that Ananya Panday turns to the same ingredients for the skin as Priyanka Chopra does for the hair. You’ve got to see what these ingredients are.
Priyanka’s DIY
Priyanka’s DIY contains full-fat yogurt, honey, and egg. Chopra believes in the dandruff-fighting, dryness-eliminating abilities of the DIY.
Honey
Honey is a humectant that infuses your follicles with much-needed moisture; naturally imparting a luster to your dry, frizz-prone hair and enhancing its appearance. Since honey contains keratin too, it adds strength and structure to the strands as well. This prevents breakage. Not just that, honey’s anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial properties allow it to get rid of dandruff effectively.
Yogurt
Yogurt cools the scalp and soothes it. Just like honey, it moisturises the strands, reduces frizz, and treats dandruff because it’s packed with antioxidants and anti-fungal properties. It deeply cleanses the scalp and eliminates excess oils from within. It maintains the pH balance of the skin which helps regulate sebum production, in turn managing oily skin.
Yogurt even strengthens and fortifies your strands; preventing hair loss and breakage.
Ananya’s DIY
Ananya’s DIY is composed of yogurt, honey, and turmeric. Panday’s recipe is inspired by her mother; one that endows her skin with an instant glow. She keeps the mask on her face for 15 minutes before rinsing it off.
Yogurt
Yogurt contains Lactic Acid; an AHA that gently exfoliates the skin to reveal new, healthy-looking cells underneath. This process makes your skin look even-toned and radiant. It can even eliminate pigmentation and tanning in the same way. Since yogurt contains fatty acids, it moisturises the skin from the inside out for a fresh-faced healthy-looking glow.
Honey
Honey, too, moisturises the skin, and with its anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial properties, be rest assured that it’ll fight off any infections and inflammation associated with eczema, psoriasis, and so on.
This is one of the most convenient DIYs. I know I’m putting it to the test ASAP.
