Priyanka Chopra Jonas has taken this saying to a whole new level and we are here for it! Our desi girl moved to Hollywood eight years ago and there’s been no turning back ever since. Now, PC is dominating headlines again for her upcoming sci-fi spy thriller, Citadel. The actress is on a press tour to promote the show.
She recently visited the SXSW 2023 (an annual event that celebrates the convergence of tech, film, music, education, and culture), being held in Austin, Texas and interacted with the media. What grabbed everyone’s attention was her response to a question about her move to Hollywood.
Referring to SRK’s old statement, an interviewer asked PCJ why are Indian actors and actresses reluctant to move to Hollywood. He asked, “So many desi actors, like Shah Rukh Khan, say, “why should I go there (Hollywood)? I’m comfortable here.” Priyanka gave a sassy response to this and said, “Comfortable is boring to me.” She further added, ‘I am not arrogant, but self-assured. I know what I am doing when I walk onto a set. I don’t need validation from executives. I am willing to take auditions, and I am willing to work. I do not carry the baggage of my success in one country when I walk into another.’ Was this a subtle dig at SRK?
The Quantico actress also mentioned that she’s known for her professionalism and her father taught her discipline. ‘I am very professional and if you ask people around me, I am known for my professionalism. I take pride in it. My father was in the military and he taught me the value of discipline. He taught me not to take the value of what you have been given for granted.’
When PC Opened Up About Rivalries
During her visit in 2022, Priyanka appeared on a YouTube podcast The Ranveer Show. Here, she made a shocking revelation on how people in Bollywood tried to jeopardise her career. She said, “I have had people wanting to jeopardise my career, take away from my work, make sure I wasn’t cast just because I was doing well in what I was doing.” Wow, can this be another reason why PCJ decided to move to Hollywood?
