It was in 2012 that Priyanka Chopra had her first brush with International fame with her single ‘In My City.’ And while many dismissed the attempt, calling it a desperate way to go “international,” PC sure was all set to prove them wrong. Soon enough she had her second song “Exotic” and the roaring success of Quantico to show haters how it’s done. Everything she has done since then has made international headlines.
And despite it all, the actress remains as connected to her roots as ever. She is after all the OG “desi girl.” Well, looks like she is all set to spread the “desi” love in New York now. What’s cooking you ask? It’s some delectable Indian khana in Priyanka’s very own restaurant! Yup, you read that right!
Priyanka took to Instagram recently to make the big announcement. Through a heartfelt post, the actress shared all the details about her very own Indian restaurant in NYC called SONA. “I’m thrilled to present to you SONA, a new restaurant in NYC that I poured my love for Indian food into. SONA is the very embodiment of timeless India and the flavours I grew up with,” she wrote.
Priyanka has collaborated with celebrated chef Hari Nayak for the restaurant concept and menu design. He’d be heading the kitchen at SONA and has curated a menu that aims to take one through the intensity of flavours in the diverse Indian cuisine. The restaurant is all set to open its doors by the end of this month.
With the announcement, Priyanka has also shared pictures from the inauguration pooja that she performed along with her family and Nick so as to bless the space. Well, as we said, no matter where she goes, this one will always remain a “desi girl” at heart. Many congratulations to PC for the new beginnings.
