If you’re anywhere close to the skincare industry, there’s a rare chance that you’ve missed the town’s new cool: Retinol. Introduced to the mainstream this year, this skincare active paced to everybody’s must-haves within what felt like a second. While I am convinced with Retinol’s anti-ageing, and zit-zapping abilities, I found myself having a hard time finding the perfect formula for my skin. I am in my early 20’s and have only introduced my skin to very light concentrations of basic skin acids. So while my initial attempts of trying retinol resulted in major purging, and extreme dryness, I eventually landed on my skincare saviour- MyGlamm’s 1% Retinol Serum.
What Is It?
MyGlamm just released their range of skincare serums, and it’s everything a skincare addict dreams of. Along with the basic babes of the game, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and niacinamide, they also have retinol and collagen for some advanced skincare. The retinol serum is an age-defying serum that is enriched with a blend of 1% retinol, caffeine and aloe vera extract. It helps in minimizing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while improving the skin tone and texture.
Why Do We Love It?
I love this retinol formulation as it has not made my skin break out or purge in any way. Its concentration of 1% retinol is perfect for beginners, as well as veteran skincare aficionados. This serum has a lightweight texture that gets quickly absorbed into the skin without leaving any greasy or sticky feel. Isn’t that exactly what we look for in our PM skincare products? Using this serum regularly for 4 weeks now has helped me observe diminishing signs of fine lines and wrinkles around my eye area. How To Use It?
Retinol skincare is ideally to be used in your nighttime skincare routines. After cleansing your face, pat your skin dry gently, and then apply the MyGlamm 1% Retinol serum. Apply the serum in a patting motion to ensure maximum product absorption. Wait for 1-2 minutes for the serum to be completely absorbed into the skin before layering your moisturizer over it.
