The Actor Making A Difference In A Crisis
Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ list of achievements is arguably as long as the vocations she has dabbled in. At just 18, she was crowned Miss World, and hasn’t looked back since that defining moment. Her flourishing 75+ film career kickstarted soon after, and she didn’t take long to establish herself as a household name in the industry, sans any godfather. Chopra Jonas’ prolific career in the Indian film industry led to her receiving the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian honour in India. From acting, she pivoted into film production and co-founded Purple Pebble Pictures, and has produced several films in regional Indian languages. In 2015, she became the first Asian American to headline an American TV show, Quantico. She ventured into tech entrepreneurship when she invested in Bumble in 2018, and helped launch the app in India. She has also won accolades for her philanthropic work, and has championed several causes, including women’s rights, leprosy awareness, cancer aid, environmental issues and animal rights, to name a few. She is presently a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

She partnered with Crocs and donated over 10,000 shoes to healthcare workers in Kerala, Maharashtra, Haryana and Karnataka. Besides that, she also made donations to various relief funds, including the PM Cares Fund, UNICEF, Feeding America and Goonj.
