A Pioneering Motovlogger
Popularly known as ‘RiderGirl Vishakha’ to her YouTube following of 806K subscribers, Vishakha Fulsunge is India’s first female motovlogger. Being a woman in a man’s world is no easy feat, and she has done it while bagging not one, but two titles in the India Book of Records–the first female rider to cross the Bay of Bengal and to ride across the Andaman Islands on her own bike.
She has always been vocal about what it’s like to travel alone as a woman in India, and her outspoken nature has earned her a loyal army of young supporters. In 2016, she was named the Fastest Girl On The Track At Vroom Drag Race, an annual drag race event held in Bangalore.
Vishakha Fulsunge’s 2020 Power Move
In 2020, Vishakha Fulsunge started the Clean Rivers Initiative and completed the ‘Sampoorna Narmada Parikrama’. She rode around the banks of the river on her motorbike, starting at Mumbai and covering Ujjain, Omkareshwar, Ankleshwar, Mithi Talai, Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Amarkantak. The ride was aimed at spreading awareness about the ecological importance of the Narmada river, which is presently extremely polluted. Fulsunge completed the Parikrama in eight days. She covered an impressive distance of 4,600 kilometres and became the first and fastest woman rider to complete the Narmada Parikrama. The gutsy rider is now working on a project to teach young girls about what it takes to become a motovlogger.
