The Food Entrepreneur Who Gained & Regained Michelin Star
Samyukta Nair, Food Entrepreneur and Founder & CEO, LSL Capital, is ruling Mayfair London with the authentic taste of India. She took Jamavar, her family’s legacy restaurant, to the city in 2016. A delectable blend of North and South Indian cuisines made it a hit. Soon, it was declared the Top Newcomer Restaurant 2017 by Harden’s Restaurant Guide. Within eight months of its launch, the restaurant had earned a Michelin star, the most coveted honour in the culinary world! The success prompted Samyukta to start Bombay Bustle in 2017 and then the very luxurious Mimi Mei Fair in 2021. Both restaurants are now the most sought-after eating destinations in London. Meanwhile, Samyukta has also been serving as the head of Design and Operations for the Leela chain of hotels. Her various enterprises do not stop at hospitality. Samyukta also runs Dandelion, a luxurious daywear and loungewear brand.
Jamavar lost its first Michelin star when the executive head chef left the staff. In 2022, under Samyukta’s able leadership, Jamavar regained its Michelin star. It’s a big feat that speaks volumes about Samyukta’s prowess as a restaurateur! In the same year, she added another feather to her cap aka a new restaurant in London named KOYN, a Japanese dining experience. Then in 2023, Samyukta opened Socca, A French Mediterranean bistro. The food is already getting rave reviews and has earned Samyukta a nomination for the GQ Food & Drink Awards 2023 in the ‘Best Restauranteur’ category!
