From strategic cut-outs, to blurred androgynous looks, to couture accessories matched with ready to wear, we think this season’s box of trends is the most fun muse we’ve had to play with in a long while.
The New Androgyny
There’s a really interesting new take on androgyny that’s sweeping through ready-to-wear fashion, that might make it easier for all of us to sport the trend. Far from the super boyish outfits and clunky shoes of the 90s, the androgyny trend for 2017 embellishes masculine pieces with a playful feminine edge. We love it. The accessories are pretty, there’s ruffles and bell bottom cuts, cropped pants and peplum belts! The Yin is blending into the Yang, and we’re really quite pleased!

Deeper Florals
More than a handful the headlining trends this season are adventurous, and for once that includes a genuinely bold array of floral prints. While cute little ditsy blooms to exotic lilies. They can be a little daunting: neon hibiscus splattered trousers don’t sound like the first thing you’d reach for in the morning, but such a statement can be impactful, mood-enhancing, and therefore, at least worth considering.

Risque Tropics
If you thought last year’s crop tops were revealing, just wait until you see what’s happening for Fall/Winter 2017. Book in a lymphatic massage, and get the body-brush out because there are very short hemlines on the way. Not only that, but many of these risqué cuts were also paired with cool block and wedge heels. A trend that could be considered daring – but for high-octane models, it’s a walk in the park.

Es-Cape
From the red carpet to charity galas, to even celeb weddings, there has been one clear trend celebrities tend to sport when they want all the Paparazzi attention: the “naked” dress. Hollywood celebs love the look, but with everyone from Deepika Padukone to Rihanna, to Kate Middleton sporting them, there are certain levels of “nakedness.” From nude shades to lingerie-like dresses, to scandalously revealing, the range of see-through dresses we have been seeing is pretty wide. Clearly, from LA to Mumbai, the level of opaqueness differs. Is it possible to sport the trend without looking slutty? Of course! We love this Lycra cape dress from Shivan & Narresh that perfectly solves the riddle! You do need to work on those abs that will be visible, but gosh, so gorgeously statuesque it makes you look!
