Shraddha Kapoor had been preparing hard for her role as Saina Nehwal in a biopic on the badminton champion. According to a recent report the actress has been replaced in the film post her dengue diagnosis. Her fans and Saina fans were really excited ever since Shraddha took to social media and shared her first look in the film. One couldn’t tell if it were Shraddha or Saina in the picture. That is how suitable she was for the role.

After months of training in badminton with coach and co-star Eshan Naqvi, Shraddha started shooting for the film in September 2018. But a few days into the shoot, she was diagnosed with dengue. The actress was supposedly going to resume work on the biopic but has now opted out of it due to a tight shooting schedule. With Street Dancer 3 and Chhichhore both coming out later this year and Baaghi 3 expected to go on the floors soon, Shraddha had to forfeit the role of Saina. She will also be seen with Baahubali star Prabhas in the action-thriller film Saaho.
Now, the real question is – who has replaced Shraddha Kapoor in the film? Well, it is none other than Shraddha’s friend and peer Parineeti Chopra.

A source told Mumbai Mirror, “Despite everyone’s best efforts to accommodate the Saina biopic, dates were clashing, so it made sense for Shraddha to opt out of it. The decision was taken by mutual consent. Meanwhile, Parineeti loved the script and will start prep soon.”

Film producer Bhushan Kumar said, “We want to wrap up Saina by this year-end for an early 2020 release, so going ahead with the project is a decision taken by mutual consent. We are glad Parineeti has come on board for the film. Saina has made every Indian proud and we can’t wait to take her story to the world in the year of the Olympics.”
Parineeti is all set to start her badminton training. In fact, this film will be her first sports-drama film. Currently, she is busy promoting her upcoming film Kesari with Akshay Kumar releasing next week on 21st March.
