If You’re Oiling Your Hair Like This, You’re Doing It Wrong!

If You’re Oiling Your Hair Like This, You’re Doing It Wrong!

Kiara Advani’s long hair is the stuff of fairytales and that’s because she knows exactly how to maintain it and minimise damage. And while she has an amazing haircare routine and hacks to make her locks look healthy, this one haircare tip by the star really changed the way I approach hair oiling.

The recently married star says that oiling hair is great and absolutely a good haircare practice but applying the hair oil incorrectly and choosing the wrong oil is not doing you any good.

What Is Kiara Advani’s Hair Oil Tip?

In an interview, Kiara spoke about a haircare tip that helps keep her hair glossy. She said “When oiling your hair, make sure you don’t use a lot of heavy oils, on the middle and the ends. You have to use double the amount of shampoo to get rid of it, which further dries out the hair.”

Kiara added that oils like castor oil, jojoba oil, and even coconut oil are heavy and need to be applied only to the scalp.

A light hair oil that you can massage from root to tip is the Organic Harvest Organic Argan Hair Oil.

How To Oil Your Hair Correctly?

The first tip is to apply heavy hair oil only to your scalp as Kiara suggested. Heavy oils like castor oil are actually the best in treating hair fall and promoting hair growth. They weigh the ends down and can lead to breakage as we. The Organic Harvest Organic Castor Oil is a pick you can directly on your scalp.

Oiling your hair lengths is good too, provided the hair oil is lightweight. You can make a heavy hair oil lightweight by mixing other natural oils with it. For example, you can heat up some coconut oil or castor oil in a bowl and then mix in some argan oil and a few drops of your favourite essential oils. This will make for an amazing hair oil concoction that can be used from root to tip.

My favourite essential oil to add to a hair oil mix is Good Vibes 100% Pure Rosemary Essential Oil.

If you want a lightweight and super nourishing hair oil to moisturise and nourish both your hair and scalp and get loads of shine, try the St. Botanica Moroccan Argan Hair Oil because it already contains a mix of amazing natural carrier oils and essential oils.

Finally, a good shampoo that does not contain harsh chemicals and sulphates is important as this will not dry out your hair. A shampoo that lathers well and is gentle and safe like the Love Beauty & Planet Coconut Water and Mimosa Flower Sulfate Free Volume and Bounty Shampoo is a great pick to wash off hair oil.

So take Kiara Advani’s word for it and oil your hair the right way.
