Nia Sharma Has A Message For People Who Slut Shame Women & We Wanna Yell It From A Microphone

The last time we checked, it’s. currently 2022—so why are some people still stuck in the dark ages? If you don’t believe us, you can check any popular actress’ social media comments and you’ll always find people making nasty comments on their bodies, clothes and other things.

It can be quite stressful to stay unaffected in the face of social media toxicity but thankfully our favourite telly star Nia Sharma has her own way of doing so. In a recent interview, the Jamai Raja actress spoke about how she has struggled with slut shaming on social media and how she dealt with it.

Nia said, “Censorship is not possible on social media and it shouldn’t be. The negative comments are equally welcome, but the shitty comments like they talk about your body or they slut shame you that is a wrong thing. It is for them to understand that you are shaming the people who belong to the same nation and the basic education brings that sense and if they don’t the best thing is to block them. Right?”

She added, “It’s not about I don’t give a damn attitude. I know that I do such things that don’t go down well with people, sometimes it’s been blown out of proportion, but that’s not my agenda.”

Let’s start by saying, we totally agree with Nia here! When you are a public figure, it can be quite hard to please everyone on the ‘Gram and that’s completely okay. As American vedette Dita Von Teese once said, “You can be the ripest, juiciest peach in the world, and there’s still going to be somebody who hates peaches.” That’s exactly how social media is.

Be it telly stars or B-towners, everyone is constantly scrutinised for even the smallest of mistakes. This kind of stress can be draining for many people and can lead to massive emotional turmoil. NGL, we are in awe of Nia’s mental strength as she continues to live life on her own terms.

All we can say to Nia ATM is a ‘thank you’ for always being her most unapologetic self. You go, gurl!
